If you are only willing to volunteer "from home" be sure you are volunteering for a census that is on the volunteer from home list. These are the only census records currently available to proofread entirely "from home" (unless you are willing to visit your local library or family history centre to copy a census from microfilm to proofread at home). The requirements for volunteering are: pre-1851* - access to microfilm 1851 - access to the images at Library & Archives Canada and/OR access to microfilm 1861* - access to microfilm 1871 - access to the images at Library & Archives Canada and/OR access to microfilm 1881 - access to the images at Library & Archives Canada and/OR access to microfilm 1891 - access to the images at Library & Archives Canada and/OR access to microfilm 1901 - access to the images at Library & Archives Canada and/OR access to microfilm 1911 - access to the images at Library & Archives Canada and/OR access to microfilm *At times there are copies available. IF they are available this census will be listed on our Volunteer From Home page. If a census is NOT on that page, you will have to gain access to the census yourself. Ready?
