Henry and Jane Strain emigrated from Ireland in 1834 and ended up in Otonabee near Peterborough in 1839. They had four children Robert, Francis, Anne and Eliza. The children later moved to Thornbury, Walter's Falls, Parry Sound. Muskoka and Rat Portage (Kenora).
