Harry S. BLACK was born in Cobourg, Ontario on August 25, 1863 the son of Thomas BLACK, a former British army officer who settled in Canada in 1834. The family was originally from Belfast, Ireland. Harry went to New York at a fairly young age. He entered the George A. FULLER Company as Vice-President and became President on the death of Mr. FULLER in December of 1900. Harry married 1st, Allon Mae FULLER (they divorced), daughter of George A. FULLER of Templeton, Massachusetts. He married 2nd, Isabel Louise MAY, daughter of Henry MAY of Baltimore, Maryland. Harry's primary residence was on the 18th floor of the Plaza Hotel in New York City of which he was also the principal owner. He passed away on July 19, 1930 at his summer residence, Allondale, in Huntington, Long Island of an apparent suicide. He was buried at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, Westchester County, New York.
