A family history states that "Benjamin Hales, proceede up Rice Lake to 'Gores' Landing and there opened a sawmill. From this location they went to 'Wallace Point' afterwards named for them and known throughout the years as "Hales Bridge". This "history" was written by Blanche Hales Squrires prior to 1960 so I am unsure as to the veracity of some of the information ... HELP !!
