Cape Rich is now located and has been since 1942 inside the Meaford military base. It has no dwellings or permanent inhabitants. It is utilized by the base as a training ground and the original gravel pit is still being drawn from by the military.1; Originally known as St. Vincent, Cape Rich is currently located on the north-east peninsula of now Canadian Forces Base Meaford, north of the town of Meaford. Village in mentioned in a book written by local historian Ron Brown.2
