LOCATION:
Historic (Geographic) Location*: Tehkummah Township, Manitoulin District

One of the first "white" settlement on Manitoulin. Michaels Bay was destroyed by fire in the early 1900s. There is a considerable amount of history in the schoolhouse museum in Southbay Mouth. Currently a developer is opening a resort golfcourse and restaurant in the general area of the town site.
