LOCATION:Ontario (Province of)

Established 1851 from York County, Abolished in the 1970's and most of the land mass was 'transferred' to Durham County. Simcoe County claimed the part of Ontario County that extended north of the south-eastern tip of Lake Simcoe and the northern half of the lake. York County claimed the south half of the lake (excluding the SE tip which went to Durham County).

LOCATION:Upper Canada

Established 1792 and abolished 1798, this short-lived County consisted of the islands in the St Lawrence River that later became Amherst Island Township
